Collage: Small Works Workshop

Create a series of small collage artworks in this fun and approachable two-hour workshop. Using a variety of papers, images, and found materials, participants will explore basic collage techniques including composition, layering, color, and texture. Working on a small scale encourages experimentation, creativity, and quick decision-making while removing the pressure of creating a large finished piece.

This workshop is suitable for beginners and experienced artists alike. All participants will leave with several completed mini collages and ideas for continuing their collage practice at home.

About the instructor:  Dea Ann Cate is a mixed media and collage artist working primarily with hand-painted papers. Inspired by nature, conservation, and a sense of place, she explores the connections between people and the natural world through layered imagery and texture. She is an active exhibiting member of the Rocky Mountain Collage Society and enjoys sharing the creative process by making collage accessible to artists of all experience levels.
