French (Beginning)

Speak French from day one, and have fun doing it! This class is for true beginners, or anyone whose high school French is a distant memory. Each week focuses on one everyday theme (greetings, ordering at a café, family, getting around town, shopping at the market), with a taste of French culture, food and regions along the way. You'll learn through short real-life video clips, grammar in small colorful bites, small-group conversation, games and quizzes. By the end, you'll be able to introduce yourself, order food, ask for directions and hold a simple conversation on a trip to France. No prior French needed, just curiosity and a sense of humor.

About the instructor:  Pascaline Garrigues is a native of France: born in the west, raised in Provence, she has lived in Paris, Lyon, Grenoble and Marseille and knows the country's regions, food and traditions inside out. A lifelong lover of French art, culture, sport outdoor and gastronomy, she loves sharing not only the language but the whole French art de vivre. Her classes are built on games, quizzes and laughter, because she believes adults learn best when they're having fun.
